Folkloric is an ethereal jewelry collection handcrafted by maker Elena Carey. Pieces in the collection are inspired by mythology, folklore and antiquity. Through trial and error, Elena has developed a technique working with paper she is able to translate imagery from an infinite number of sources into wearable art, by combining ephemera, resin, metals, cord, pearls, semi-precious stones, and vintage elements.
Sourced from a vintage book of Botticelli plates, this elegant necklace features the image of a Horai, a goddess of the seasons, as she readies to drape the naked Venus in a floral cloak. The piece is coated in a hard, high-gloss resin. The necklace is an adjustable 18-20” on a bronze paperclip chain with a gold fill spring ring closure.
