FIRST FRIDAY | DIANA HARTMAN

We're excited to announce that we will once again host artists on First Fridays! For May we will display the work of Diana Hartman, who you may have already met behind the counter. She has been working with us for almost a year and now you can see what she creates in her off hours.

Diana's work is whimsical and imaginative as she anthropomorphizes flora, fauna, vegetables, insects and more. Here are a few words from the artist: "Mighty Mouse and other heroic rodents have always charmed me. I love the idea of the small being ferocious. Besides mice, I paint chickens and ducks exploring outer space, hares boxing or John Muirmot..... Much of my work is painted on wooden trays, doors. drawers and mirrors. I've found many exciting surfaces to paint on, which also allows me to repurpose anything i can."
