Since 2007, Doug Ross has been making fine art silkscreen prints at his home in Santa Cruz. The abundance of local wild spaces and outdoor activities, both land and sea, have influenced his subject matter. Doug’s work is populated with stylized creatures, and while based on actual species, are filtered through graphic design training and influence from the Modernist design movement. His work as an illustrator has been used for many national magazines and international clients. In addition to Ross’ involvement in the local art community, he is well known for helping marine mammal rescue groups around the Monterey Bay.
